CoherentWeb Released
CoherentWeb Beta 1
A new kind of high-
performance XSLT/XPath
based test and analysis
tool; it picks up where
XML IDEs finish.
Why not try it out, and
report back on any bugs
or missing features?
The freeware SketchPath is still available. However there is now also the opportunity to try out a free beta version of a more advanced XPath tool that builds on SketchPath project experience. The new product is called CoherentWeb, and can be downloaded from here. Why not try it?
The freeware SketchPath product is still available and can be downloaded from the project website here.
CoherentWeb still only requires .NET 2.0, its faster and smaller and can be downloaded from here.
The SketchPath product has been incredibly popular and was the inspiration behind CoherentWeb. It will continue to be available. as freeware.
If you first try out CoherentWeb you can always go back to SketchPath afterwards.
This is a module specified by the EXPath project at http://expath.org/. A Java implementation of this is available from the EXPath site. CoherentWeb includes its own .NET implementation.
SketchPath has always provided the capability to save your XPath expressions as an XML file for reuse.
CoherentWeb improves on this by providing a more structure XML format, but also by including a more flexible import/export feature.
This exploits XSLT converters to potentially convert files between other formats such as Schematron, XSpec, or even other XSLT files.
Since SketchPath was produced, a more advanced , quicker, rich text control for .NET applications has become available.
CoherentWeb uses this new control and the performance increase (on a suitable platform) means that a large file that took 20 seconds to load in SketchPath can load in under a second.
